Farming is one of the major source of food and income of many Filipinos.In time, they try to find some ways  to use something that they can get from their own farms as substitute or as an alternative for their foods. We all know that almost all animals that we eat lived in farm like carabao, cow, goat, sheep and more. There are    also fruits and vegetables that are available in some farms in the country. These can be a source of income for us by trading it or selling it. Did you know that there are a lot more foods that we can get from farm than we already know? I will give you ideas of some of the "Delicious foods" that we can get from farms or even in our own backyard and how to make it a special recipe. 

PALAKANG BUKID




This is a unique Filipino recipe made from "PALAKANG BUKID" . The palakang bukid is a well-known breed of frog that the people can eat safely unlike the other frogs in the farm. This dish is also called "Adobong Palakang Bukid". Adobo is known all around the world not only in the Philippines. The Filipino came up with the dish that the frog can use as the main ingredients of the recipe. Filipino's use this frog as main ingredients, not only in Adobo, but also in Sinampalukang Palaka Bukid, Tinolang Palakang Bukid, and Fried Palakang Bukid. Here is the recipe in preparing the delicious " Adobong Palakang Bukid".

Ingerdients: 

  • Palakang Bukid
  • Oil
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Soy sauce
  • Vinegar
  • Ginger
  • Salt

Instruction:

  • Clean the frog well and also remove skin.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Saute garlic and onions.
  • Add the frog, soy sauce, vinegar and ginger in the pan.
  • Cook it for 2 to  3 minutes.
  • Add salt to add taste.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Kamote (Pichi Pichi)





Pichi Pichi is a delicious Filipino dessert or snack. The main ingredients of this dish is "Kamoteng Kahoy".  This is a type of root plants that grows not only in farm but in the backyard. I experienced to create this dish because my auntie is a vendor in "Bancheto" in Ortigas every friday.  I will share you some ways to this delicious dessert. This procedure came from the internet.

Ingredients:


  • 2 cups grated cassava
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1/2 can condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar

Instruction:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cassava, sugar and water.
  • Add lye water while continously stirring the mixture
  • Once the mixture is evenly distributed, pour in individual cup molds and place in a steamer
  • Steam the mixture for 45 minutes to 1 hour (or until the color turns translucent)
  • Allow the steamed pichi-pichi to cool down (at least 40 minutes to 1 hour ; you can even place it in the fridge after letting it cool down at least 15 minutes) then remove from the molds
  • Roll the each piece over the grated coconut
  • Place in a serving plate then serve. Share and Enjoy!
